Extra-curricular Highlights
Public Speaking
Students develop their thinking, communication and teamwork skills through debating and public speaking. They also have the chance to compete in local and state events.
The Gardening Club
Students take their environment seriously at Awaba. They run E-Teams (Environmental Teams) daily, which separate rubbish, collect classroom waste, encourage NUDE food and weed and water the gardens.
New ideas are being researched to make our school as green as it can be.
Trips and Excursions
Our students enjoy getting out of the classroom to explore, learn and try new things. These experiences help them grow, build confidence and see how their learning connects to the world.
Stage 2 attend an overnight excursion each year. Stage 3 students attend Sport and Recreation camps and also visit Canberra year about.
We run mixed-age, frequent, Big Day Out excursions during the term to extend students in real life literacy and numeracy concepts.
