On Tuesday the 15th of August, Awaba Public School attended the Questacon Science Exhibition at Coal Point Community Centre. We were greeted by volunteers at 10.30 and taken on a bush walk to explain local conservation efforts and the eradication of a weed pest. Students saw evidence of scientific study in a quadrat. This is an area where scientists section off a parcel of land and use it as a control. We learnt about the native fauna and flora found in the Coal Point area. Students were then treated to a wonderful array of hands on exhibits to get them thinking, questioning and learning. We sincerely thank the Questacon staff and volunteers, parents and staff and also a huge thank you to the YMCA for transporting our students to and from the centre. Here are some happy snaps!
